Google’s New Weapon Against Apple’s iPad: Android 3.0

Google’s head of Android recently put up a blog post with a sneak peak of Android 3.0, codenamed Honeycomb. From the preview it is clear this new Android is designed for large screen touch displays. Some of the functions previewed are multi-tasking, a new YouTube layout, video calling, a slick scroll for Google eBooks, and a 3D Google Maps. Yes, Google Maps is now 3D– no goggles necessary.

We’ll be reporting on any tablets that seriously contend with the iPad.
